California Pear Update – April 1, 2026
The 2026 California pear harvest is fast approaching. An unusually warm spring across Northern California has resulted in an early bloom in both our River and Mountain growing districts. The Sacramento River Delta experienced bloom approximately one week ahead of normal, while our Mountain district was even earlier—blooming roughly two to two and a half weeks earlier than normal.
We look forward to delivering another excellent California pear crop and will continue to keep you updated as the season progresses. We remain committed to our long-standing tradition of providing the finest quality fresh California pears to our customers.
Scully Packing Company handles approximately 40% of California’s Bartlett pear pack. In addition to our company-farmed orchards, we proudly partner with approximately 20 of California’s premier pear growers.
We offer a full range of pack styles to meet your needs, including 40 lb. wraps, 36 lb. tight-fill cartons, 27 lb. Euro cartons and RPCs, 20 lb. half cartons, 12/2 lb., 9/3 lb., and 6/4 lb. pouch bags, as well as 4 lb. and 6 lb. consumer trays.
Scully operates two shipping locations: our main facility in Lake County and a convenient Central Valley location in Exeter (southeast of Fresno), allowing for easy consolidation with other summer and fall commodities. We take pride in delivering the highest level of service and one of the most efficient loading experiences in the industry.
